A century and a half after its founding, Zeta's rescue has ossified into empire. A new noble class dominates through achievement and inherited privilege, while Satraps enforce order for the Senatus and Oculus, the unseen command at the heart of the Imperium. Across its fractured society — scientists, soldiers, rebels, and zealots — loyalty and truth blur as each generation questions whether Zeta's salvation became its own prison.

Told through interlocking chapters following multiple pseudo-protagonists over 18 months, the narrative explores power, memory, and moral decay — a meditation on how civilizations justify control, how progress curdles into tyranny, and how even rebellion can become another form of faith.
